One-half gallon paintrock- glazed storage or preserve jar (aka beanpot) can be attributed to Jesse Braford Long, who was born in 1805, potted in Crawford County until he left for Texas in 1882, and where he died around 1888.  The form, the remaining handle, and the glaze all point to JBL as the maker of this jar.  The multi-colored glaze, in reds, browns, and orange tones, does not show well in the photos. The jar is missing one handle and is worn around the rim from heavy use
