Georgia JugFest & Old Knoxville Days Festival "The Historical Society Strategic Plan Task Force, with the guidance and assistance of Kristi Harpst of the Middle Georgia Regional Development Center, is preparing a new Strategic Plan and Five Year Work Program. Completion and approval is expected in early summer 2009." Old Courthouse Restoration Project The society is still working on a community-wide coalition of groups and individuals interested in saving the historic courthouse in Knoxville. County Historical Society is in the process of restoring our 1851 Old
Courthouse, one of the earlier courthouses in the state still standing, and
converting it into a museum devoted to telling the story of what is unique
about our county. Our mission is to preserve, interpret and promote the
historical, cultural and natural heritage of Crawford County, GA, and to
promote economic development through historic preservation. |
